It’s been a while since I’ve seen a two door Tercel. Even with the inordinate amount of Tercels I’ve seen lately, this is a true survivor. There was some body damage on the front fender and rear bumper, but the paint was immaculate. “No, I’m just parked outside your house taking a picture of your car for. . . umm. . . research! No wait, posterity! That’s it.”

Speaking of practical two door Toyota sedans, the Echo is a really really weird car. The Europeans got sensible two and four door Yaris hatchbacks because nothing else makes sense with a car this small. America? We got some strangely proportioned sedans that didn’t really make sense given their size. I think this was the last truly practical two door sedan sold in the US because no car after this had such a utilitarian roofline to give the rear passengers headroom.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen this generation of Sprinter van. Even in the south, it has visible rust.

I really don’t now anything about bikes. But that lowered Chevy Silverado next to it was actually quite tastefully done. We need either more lowered pickups or more trucks that just come at a reasonable ride height.

I suppose I should mention why I was walking around alleyways in the middle of the night. Well, it had been an emotional day, what with being entirely swamped with work. Then , my brother’s girlfriend and her dog got attacked by two pitbulls and fell down some concrete stairs. She’ll be alright but. . . whew. . . nothing but the grace of God there.

I had to calm my nerves with a nighttime walk. While I was there, I took some photos which exhibit my gloominess so completely as to be almost comic. I’m fine now, since it has been a few days.

This last one is of the old church steeple base after a replacement was made. The tower used to be attached, but I don’t know what happened to it. The metal spire was retained, but all the wood, brick, and plaster was discarded.

How are you doing, Oppo?

Was back at work this last weekend for two days after having ten off as holidays, I’m off the next five nights again to use up my holiday entitlement.

Got the hospital again with my step-father tomorrow afternoon (3pm). That’ll be fun.

Yeah I feel like I’m the only one who is still busy. Good luck at the hospital not touching anything. Make sure to wear a mask and bring some rubber gloves in case they aren’t providing them.

He's going for an anesthesiologist assessment to have some gall stones out. Because he had a gastric bypass 20 years ago and certain doctors chose not to remove the gall stones as standard as part of the procedure he still has them. But he's too much scar tissue over the site to do keyhole they think, they may go in from the side which in conjunction with his health anyway, means it's a much more severe op.

I’ve been to Slough, UK, and I was under the impression that it’s the true Slough of Despair.

They do have Station Jim though:

It took me a while but that is quite the exotic life for a dog. I can assure you my existence is a little more mundane - for now. In the meantime I can at least produce amusing photographs of otherwise boring things, such as that guardrail.

Same, I thought he was talking about Slough as well. I have never been but have seen plenty of it on the UK version of Road Cops. or whatever it is called. I mentioned it to a Briton and he said it was next to or close to some fancy areas, maybe large estates which is why you will see the baddy drive through some really fancy manicured roadways .

Here’s my DOTS contribution. This was at a $400/night hotel, and it was the only car from Mexico.
